Winona County Primary Prevention Project (WCPPP)

Who We Are

The Winona County Sexual and Domestic Violence Primary Prevention Project (hereinafter referred to as WCPPP) began in 2008 through the efforts of many citizens, health and human services, educational, judicial services, professionals, and their agencies to develop community strategies to prevent sexual and domestic violence. WCPPP is a 501 C 3 Certified Non-Profit Organization since May 2019. The Winona County PPP partners with over 20 Winona County community agencies and organizations.

What We Do

The mission of this project is primary prevention of sexual and domestic violence by providing education, changing cultural norms and practice. Provide education to policy and legislation makers in Winona County and Minnesota. These actions are focused on primary prevention dealing with any sexual and domestic violence or abuse involved in human relationships. The goal is to ensure our communities are safer for everyone. Winona County using the “Spectrum of Prevention”: Support Winona County coalitions and foster networks, promote education in our communities, educate providers/professionals and promote safe organizational practices. Educate public policy and legislation makers and strengthen individual knowledge.
