Spend a few hours each day treating your fellow humans as you would like to be treated. Assist the staff in opening the day shelter, setting up breakfast, doing some light cleaning and organizing. Interact with the shelter guests as needed, perhaps with a puzzle or board game, or just providing a sympathetic ear.
